Meet the Staff: Part Three

As a child, I was drawn to older adults. I adored my grandmothers and enjoyed spending time with them. When I was sixteen, my first summer job was working as a nurses' aide at The Masonic Home for the Aged in St. Petersburg, FL. I knew then that I would go into nursing. While in school I found that I preferred taking care of adults. And after years of working in critical and urgent care, I gravitated back to seniors.

A "calling" presented itself at my church to be involved with older adults challenged by cognitive impairment issues. I became program coordinator for an adult day respite program and have been with seniors ever since. My role at Seniors Helping Seniors has changed somewhat, but the rewards have not, as I am continually enriched and inspired by our clients and their families.
